An Initial course of Acupuncture is typically between 6-10 weekly sessions, depending on the severity of the problem. Once your symptoms have subsided regular monthly or six weekly treatments are recommended to support and maintain your health and fitness.
Acupuncture is gradually being recognised by the Medical world as one of the most valuable methods of treatment for chronic pain and sports injuries. It is a quick and powerful method for releasing pain and tension in the body, improving posture, counteracting muscle soreness and increasing flexibility.

About your treatment.
At your first consultation, you will be asked in detail about your symptoms, diet habits, sleeping patterns and medical history along with tongue and pulse diagnosis, which gives us a much better idea of your health and constitution, before formulating your individual treatment plan. This appointment lasts approximately 1¼ hours.
Subsequent treatments take approximately 50 minutes. On average we recommend an initial course of 6-10 weekly sessions, with a view to reassessing your progress after this stage. Some acute conditions require twice weekly sessions for a short period of time, to help reduce the symptoms and pain quicker.
Once your symptoms have subsided you may prefer to continue with maintenance treatments, usually at intervals of four to six weeks, which invariably prevents the original condition from returning.
Occasionally we may use other techniques to enhance your treatment, such as Moxa, Cupping, Auricular Therapy, Body Magnets, Acupressure or Balance Acupuncture Techniques, depending upon your presenting condition.
