The First consultation and treatment lasts
approximately 1¼ hours with subsequent treatments taking approximately 45
minutes. On average, I recommend a course of 4-6 weekly treatments,
with a view to re-assessing your progress after this. Some patients prefer to
maintain their health afterwards by visiting on a monthly
basis. Initially I take a detailed medical history from you,
and discuss your current symptoms, pain or emotional state and then will ask
you what treatment you have received so far. I will feel your pulses on both wrists, noting their
quality, rhythm and strength and examine your tongue for its colour and type of
coating, because both of these are key indicators of your general state of
health. Having gathered all this information I can then make a
Chinese medicine diagnosis, based on your answers. You are generally treated
lying down. A number of points are selected, depending on your diagnosis, and
these points are treated according to Traditional Chinese Acupuncture in
order to move any blockages that are causing pain or swelling, rebalance your Yin and Yang energies, calm
your emotions, thus allowing your body to heal itself without hinderance. Other techniques may be
used during your treatment, such as Moxa, Cupping, Auricular Therapy, Ear
Seeds, Acupressure or Tuina Massage depending upon your condition. After treatment most people feel deeply
relaxed and contented. Often their original problem is alleviated,
and where the medical condition was one of pain, you may often
experience a cessation or easing in that pain. About Treatment
